The Prochip decoder sends this data to the timekeeper’s computer. The Prochip decoders are available in 2 versions The standard Prochip decoder (RED) and the Portable Prochip decoder (Yellow) The maximum distance between the detection loop and the decoder is 100 meter (330ft) which can be covered by a high quality coax cable. This decodes the received signals into the athletes ID and records (lap) times to the millisecond.
The detection loop is connected to the decoder. It receives passing times from the detection loop and translates this into data the software can work with. The MYLAPS ProChip decoder is the beating heart of the system.
